Suitability Assessment of NOx Emissions Measurements with PTI Equipment

چکیده
The measurement of NOx emissions in vehicles has so far been exclusively carried out during the type-approval process. For this purpose, high-precision gas laboratory equipment and Portable Emission Measurement Systems (PEMS) are used. Both types costly terms price, maintenance, complexity, time use (calibration maintenance requirements). Currently, measurements Periodic Technical Inspections (PTIs) being considered, but PEMS or is unsuitable for function, PTI-grade to be Although CO O2 currently reliably measured with equipment, there not enough information about its accuracy measurements. Accordingly, paper, simultaneous measures have performed over same engine a test cell, PTI analyser assess latter. When performing most similar conditions found PTI, our results show that shows an average deviation 2.6 ppm 9% rel. respect concentrations below 700 NOx, which can considered acceptable periodic technical inspections.

Satellite measurements of daily variations in soil NOx emissions
[1] Soil NOx emission from agricultural regions in the western United States has been investigated using satellite observations of NO2 from the SCIAMACHY instrument. We show that the SCIAMACHY observations over a 2 million hectare agricultural region in Montana capture the short intense NOx pulses following fertilizer application and subsequent precipitation and we demonstrate that these variat...

[1] Assimilated inversion on a daily basis using OMI tropospheric NO2 columns is developed and applied in a regional chemical transport model (REAM) to constrain fossil fuel (FF) NOx emissions over east Asia in 2007. The iterative nature of the assimilated inversion improves upon the widely used monthly-mean inversion by accounting for the chemical feedbacks of changed NOx emissions and reducin...
متن کاملSpatially resolved flux measurements of NOx from London suggest significantly higher emissions than predicted by inventories.
To date, direct validation of city-wide emissions inventories for air pollutants has been difficult or impossible. However, recent technological innovations now allow direct measurement of pollutant fluxes from cities, for comparison with emissions inventories, which are themselves commonly used for prediction of current and future air quality and to help guide abatement strategies. Fluxes of N...
